Brass, bronze, copper, sterling silver, pietersite, found leather glove.

When I was in MassART's jewelry program they assigned a "thematic bracelet" project to all of their incoming seniors. The students would pick a theme and base a bracelet off of it, and this would serve the jumping off point for the remaining projects.

I chose "fantasy" as my theme because a lot of my work dealt with mock-artifacts from a fictional narrative. Whether it was an act of obstinance or just simply thematic, I chose to make a gauntlet instead.

Once I began researching antique arms and armor, it became apparent that the thing I made was in reality not that effective, instead being an embellished facsimile of a piece of armor. This realization served as the catalyst for much of my work for that year onward.
